PRESERVATION

For the last 30 years of Wise Follys 100 + years, she remained laid up, protected awaiting restoration.

In 2017 we were asked to take the boat and restore it so that it might find a new owner.

RESTORING HERITAGE

We extensively rebuilt her replacing her covering boards, coamings, deck and lining all in mahogany with an English oak interior floor. Her engine was replaced with a 6kw 72v electric motor and new hydraulic steering by Vetus and an enlarged stainless steel rudder for improved manoeuvrability

Happily, after her restoration, she found loving new owners who use her extensively on the Thames

 PRESENT DAY

Now a stunning sight back on the reaches of the Thames where she was built for, at over a hundred years old she is looking amazing.

Her owners bring her back over the winter months for storage and maintenance. A truly unique, one of a kind launch.

TESTIMONIAL

Dennett's Boat Yard were highly recommended to us from several different sources.

We have been blown away at the personal care and attention they have devoted to the restoration and maintenance of Wise Folly.  Steve has been unfailingly professional in his advice and pragmatic to a fault  No request has been left unanswered. It is evident that this boat yard goes beyond expectations and delivers on its promises.  Costs are always mapped out comprehensively and we have been pleasantly surprised at several jobs coming in under the estimate.  It is plain that for this particular boat yard - restoring boats is more than a job, it is a way of life.
