REFURBISHMENT

Classic Boats Venice sought our services to completely restore Lady Betty a former steam boat into a hybrid to use in their fleet of historic motorboats used for tours and private hire.

BRIEF

The brief to reinvent Lady Betty for modern entertainment whilst keeping her historic charm.

New additions included a sensitively designed wooden canopy roof and a new engine box to conceal the newly installed hybrid engine  enabling clients to enjoy the silence of electric propulsion without losing the capability and secureness provided by the back up diesel engine.

Testimonial from the Owner

At Classic Boats Venice we offer guests experiences in the lagoon of Venice aboard classic beautiful boats equipped with modern hybrid engines. When we had contacted Dennett Shipyards about work on our next project the team were complete professionals offering concrete solutions to make a dream of ours come true, to see Lady Betty from 1894 cruising through the lagoon of Venice by equipping her with a modern hybrid engine. She had been a boat that we wanted to see in our fleet for quite some time. The team at Dennett made this dream a reality. Through project management, guidance and connecting us with the team at Thames Electric the project was finished on time. The boat was delivered to Venice more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. From her first voyage through the lagoon in Venice to now she is the pride of our fleet. A head turner that makes every single person who sees her smile. Lady Betty continues to tell her tale because of the extreme care, attention to detail and fine craftsmanship at Dennett Shipyards. Thank you to Stephen for your consummate vision and dedication. The team at Classic Boats Venice is looking forward to welcoming you all aboard Lady Betty when you visit Venice.
