50ft ‘BROWN OWL’ CLASS MOTOR-SAILER designed by John Bain and built by Silvers of Rosneath in 1934 for Robert Barr of Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire.
ISLANDA was requisitioned for service in 1940, most likely for coastal patrol. After the war Sir Geoffrey Burton of Wasperton House, Warwick acquired the vessel, he also was the owner of the Camper & Nicholson 50 Ton Schooner HOSHI.
A succession of owners followed; the mid-1950s Captain L W Cox MC addressed The Royal Motor Yacht Club, Sandbanks, Poole,1960 Mr & Mrs W Graeme-Lines of Cudworth Mano and moved her to Chichester.Ian Paterson of The Vale, Chelsea moved her to The Hamble where she remained through the 1970s and 1980s, changing hands in 1989. She ended up in Chelsea Habour in the mid '90s changing hands in 95, 97 and finally to her current owner in 2018

Carvel pitch-pine planked hull, copper fastened to steam bent oak timbers and frames. Original varnished teak superstructure and teak skylights, hatches, covering boards and rubbing strakes. All expertly scraped back to bare wood repaired where necessary and beautifully finished with the best product on the market expertly applied by hand.
The Swept, teak laid decks have been renewed and laid using more modern techniques to ensure longevity, finished at the end in traditional technique as not to distract from the originality of this vessels exterior
Canoe Stern expertly has had her stern post renewed and the aft coach roof now makes space for a seating area for entertaining.
Island's interior has completely been refitted to allow her owners to enjoy her with the benefit of 21st Century comforts and layouts.
A Beautiful and capable sea-going, auxiliary motor-yacht of immense style and distinction with a lovely canoe stern. ISLANDA has been fortunate to have been maintained to the highest standard. The interior has a wonderful ambience evoking traditional contemporary style, whilst the exterior is stunningly traditional down to every detail where possible.
ISLANDA is a breathtakingly beautiful motor-yacht which you cant help at stop and stare at whilst cruising elegantly along the water.
